Bespoke work is my greatest passion as a craftsman. It's the area of the craft where clients see the full benefit of hand made work, the finest detail can be customised and a truly unique item can be created. Over the years I've worked on everything from chef's knives to architectural fittings, from recreating medieval jewellery to modern cookware. If it's made of metal I can help.

How A commission Works...
Free Consultation
Clients contact me with a range of situations, some have a fully formed design that they want me to create and others are looking for me to do the designing or anywhere in between. I tailor my approach to fit each individual client, I want my clients to have a hand crafted service as well as a hand crafted piece of metalwork.

During this stage we'll discuss your detailed requirements, any ideas on style or design you may have as well as materials and finishes. This all helps me to understand exactly what you're looking for and means I can provide estimates of cost and timescale.

Free Design
Next I produce a range of concept designs for you to examine. I prefer to work in the traditional manor of hand made drawings but I can also provide a modern CAD design. This step could also involve providing physical examples of finishes or techniques to help decide what you like. At this stage we can change any aspect of the design until you're completely happy with it.

If you're satisfied with the concept design I'll produce a full drawing and quote ready for your approval to begin production. At this stage we'll agree a final payment, this normally includes a 50% deposit payable before production starts.
Production
I'll use my expertise to produce your piece to the highest of standards. All my work is hand made from forging through to finishing and you can expect an artisan level of quality you won't find in mass produced items.
I keep clients involved in the production process from start to finish so offer to send pictures of the project as it progresses. You can contact me at any time to see how things are progressing.
Presentation and Aftercare
Once I've finished your project and received payment I'll deliver and it to you ready for use or installation. You'll now have a unique piece of artisan craftsmanship, designed and made to your exact parameters.

Delivery isn't the end of your commission. I ensure each commission is left with the appropriate advice for its care and any necessary materials for this. I offer a guarantee on all of my work and am available to contact at any time after delivery.
